Vegas night at the Crues

14 Nov

LAS VEGAS COMING TO CRUSADERS SOCIAL CLUB. TICKETS ON SALE

Tickets will be on sale for this cracking night on Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday night from Billy Montgomery.

The SEC in association with pimpmyparty.net are proud to announce Las Vegas is coming to the upstairs lounge at Seaview. Professional tables and croupiers will set the scene which you can enjoy with a drink ordered from one of our glamorous waitresses.

Join in with the atmosphere… will you get that Ace or will your number come up? Big prizes for those with the most chips at the end of the night. All the old favourites will be there such as roulette and blackjack along with new favourites for the less ambitious gambler such as high-low and the coin toss.

The night is especially important as a fundraiser given the ridiculous situation that for the whole of November and the first part of December we have only one home match and yet wages and bills still need to be paid each week. Several of the players have already indicated they will be there and the inimitable “Big G” will be doing the Disco. Definitely a night not to be missed!

It will all take place on Saturday 19th November

2oo Club – July draw

30 Jul

The 200 Club Committee took the decision today to postpone the monthly 200 club draw for a week and hold it after the momentous first league match of the season against Glentoran, when  there will be a bumper crowd in the clubhouse to witness someone winning £500 or more.

We would like to thank all those supporters who have contributed over the summer period which has helped the club immensely. Since the launch in November and first draw in December the club has received £6,745 as a result of the first seven draws. Don’t forget that means that there has also been £6745 in prize money handed out also  there have been 42 happy people.

Club Chairman Stephen Bell said “The revenue raised by the 200 club has allowed me to keep a number of high-profile players at the club. I would encourage everyone, supporters, friends and family to join the 200 club so that we may keep players and realise the potential of the club and therefore improve on last years final position in the league.

The slight delay will allow the few normal contributors who have not been at the friendlies a few extra days to get your £10 in to be in with  winning. This is the fans chance to help the club keep the team on the field. It also gives you the opportunity  to get money in your own pocket and enjoy a few extra luxuries.

It is with regret that Michael Long has had to take on extra duties, such as managing the pitch management, to aid the football club and no longer has the time to carry out his duties on the 200 club. Michael wishes the 200 club every success in the future and hopes that it will continue to grow.

The Committee would like to thank Michael for all his work, time and effort over the first seven draws which was crucial in developing the 200 club and helping raise money for Crusaders.Given Michael’s departure and the volume of work he carried out, the Committee would like to welcome Davy Hamilton the Supporters Liaison representative on board who will take over Michael’s duties.

Can anyone who still has to pay or would like to join to get a chance to win in excess of £500 get in touch with any member of the 200 club committee (Billy Montgomery, John Linton, Alan Briers, Davy Hamilton, John Alexander,) or email crues200club@hotmail.co.uk to arrange to pay. The last date for receipt of money will be Friday 5/8/2011.

Ticket Pricing and Rational, statement on behalf of the Office Bearers

Ticket prices for this match are high by Crusaders standards.  We understand that some fans may be concerned.  As such, we wanted to explain the rationale.

A Red (and Black) Letter Day

First and foremost, it was our determination that this match be played at Seaview. Enormous work has taken place around Seaview in the past 2 years, and the Stadium Working Group had made hosting a Euro tie at Seaview in 2011-12 ca key target.

We are very grateful to our near neighbours, Cliftonville FC, whose ground we registered for UEFA licensing purposes.  However, a plum draw has made this tie “a red-letter day” for the Crusaders, our biggest match since the European Cup tie with Liverpool in 1976-77, and should really be played at home. We are a fan-owned, fan-run club and proud to be so. It was our determination to host a great night at our wee patch, Seaview.

Costs of Meeting UEFA Standards

The costs of hosting the match are high. In addition to the challenges in meeting the matching costs of the two new stands (plus over £160,000 in VAT), we have £10,000 to spend to undertake FIFA 2 Star re-certification, the costs of a TV gantry, and a host of other costs to bring the ground up to UEFA standard, from supporter medical facilities to Wi-Fi access for press correspondents.  It all costs

Second, we are seeking to use the opportunity of this major match to add up to 1400 seats to the Seaview capacity on the South side of the ground.  South side seats are costed at £30 for the match.  At this price, we will not fully recover our costs, but will have additional seating capacity thereafter.  Doing this now (albeit at breakneck speed) makes long-term sense, leaving the ground with a seating capacity of over 3000 and capable of hosting Irish Cup, CIS and County Antrim semi-finals in the future.

Finally, doing our ticketing through the wider Crusaders family (Supporters Clubs, Academy and Strikers sections will help grow these sections and improve communication though our “roots”.  Hosting a match of this size is, for us, a “whole club” effort.

“Club Flags and Colours Only”

Finally, can we ask all supporters to support our call for “Club Flags and Colours Only” on the night.  We are an open club, seeking to promote a family friendly atmosphere at the ground.  We have been active supporters of the IFA’s “Football for All” campaign, and promoters of the UEFA 10 point plan to combat sectarianism and racism.

We want those attending the Europa tie to want to enjoy the night and come back more regularly. Likewise, the customers to our 4G pitch are from all communities, as well as foreign nationals living locally.  Let’s show the new Seaview off in the right light – no political or national flags, just passionate, noisy, support for the Hatchetmen.

“We’re Red, We’re Black, the Hatchetmen are Back – Super Crues, Super Crues”
